ABS Consulting Vice President Steve Arendt Receives CCPS Fellow Award

Steve Arendt, Vice President, Organizational Performance and Assurance, ABS Consulting, received the 2008 Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) Fellow Award in recognition of his exemplary dedication to process safety and CCPS. CCPS Fellow selection criteria focus on four general categories including active participation, contribution, loyalty and community.
In 2006, Arendt led ABS Consulting's project to provide support for the BP U.S. Refineries Independent Safety Review Panel evaluation of PSM effectiveness, process safety culture and corporate oversight of BP's five U.S. refineries.
With over 50 published articles, he has authored several major process safety publications, including Guidelines for Risk-based Process Safety Management, Guidelines for Hazard Evaluation Procedures, Second Edition with Worked Examples, A Manager's Guide to QRA; and a Resource Guide for the Process Safety Code of Management Practices. He is a coinstructor for security courses and has led numerous industry-sponsored security workshops.
